The 10th All in CARAVANING Concluded with a Record-breaking Success

AIC 2021 – the 10th All in CARAVANING came to a successful conclusion at Beijing Etrong International Exhibition & Convention Center on June 20th. “We are so delighted to once again present a high-quality trade show to the industry. During the three-day event, we welcomed a new record of 25,448 visitors. This fact not only underlines the importance of AIC for the Chinese RV industry but also shows that face to face meetings are demanded than ever before.” Mr. Marius Berlemann, General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. concluded.

On the business side, the show produced remarkable results. Exhibitors and visitors were highly satisfied with the outcome, which exceeded expectations in many respects. New exhibition zones as well as exciting concurrent events received positive response. The lively atmosphere at AIC shows that caravanning is becoming increasingly popular in China. People's desire for travelling and exploration of the world makes this traveling style charming and meaningful.

The indoor and outdoor exhibition area totaled 39,000 square meters and welcomed more than 200 brands, attracting 25,448 visitors in total, up by 6% compared to the previous year. More than 550 caravan models of different price ranges were on display.

From June 17-19, six broadcasters from RV industry media and six RV travel KOL came together for live streaming on site, turning up the heat at AIC. The 3-day live broadcasts attracted more than 1.2 million views.

Responses from the exhibitors with high satisfaction

Many manufacturers see AIC as a great platform for launching new RV models. Given the one year delay due to the pandemic, exhibitors have put in “extra efforts” by releasing a wide range of new models to caravan fans. More than 20 manufacturers unveiled their latest models. Intensive new model launches and promotional activities greatly draw interest from visitors, resulting in signature of numerous purchase orders and contracts.

“It has been ten years since the launch of AIC, and Yate RV has participated in eight editions. Yate and AIC have been growing together. AIC is a truly professional industry show. The quality of exhibitors and visitors has improved greatly over the ten years. The products exhibited at AIC are becoming increasingly upscale and comprehensive. In the future, we will continue to develop together with AIC.” says Mr. TIAN Minghui, General Manager of Tangshan Yate Special Vehicles Co., Ltd.

It is the first time for DACHI Intelligent RV to attend AIC show. Their new smart RV and the DT392 small trailer are so popular with on-site sales reaching more than 100 sets. Mr. LI Mingcheng, General Manager of DACHI Intelligent RV, is extremely happy with the result, “AIC has established a perfect platform for the integration of Chinese and international industries as well as brand display and promotion, which has a profound impact on the rapid and sustainable development of the caravanning industry. We cherish and appreciate the opportunity to showcase at AIC.”

The outdoor equipment zone led by RV International is a new addition this year, and has become one of the most popular zones at AIC. A continuous stream of visitors showed strong interest in buying the various tents, camping products and outdoor articles, driven by their desire and passion for outdoor activities. Mr. LIAO Hongbin, CEO of RV International, sums up with great satisfaction: “RV International has participated in all the editions of AIC since it was launched ten years ago. We have achieved fruitful results at the exhibition. This year, we showed more outdoor elements to consumers. From RVs to outdoor camping equipment and to outdoor food, we presented consumers with a wide variety of elements of outdoor life. In the future, we will continue to join hands with AIC to showcase the outdoor consumption and recreation culture for the industry and consumers.

The accessories zone was also extremely popular. There is a great demand from caravan owners for equipment upgrade. Innovative, quality and high-tech products are among the most favorable choices. In particular, AIC Innovation Zone and the German Pavilion showcasing made-in-Germany products received many visitors’ attention. As the first international pavilion at a RV exhibition in China, the German Pavilion was initiated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, and co-organized by the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry. Here, seven top German brands came together on 310 square meters to showcase unique German products. Mr. WEI Xiangyang, General Manager of AL-KO (Yantai) Machinery Co., Ltd. enthuses about the concept: “The German Pavilion, which made its debut at AIC, brought not only quality German products, but also sophisticated European technology and concepts. With the support of the professional AIC, the German Pavilion contributed to the sustainable growth of China’s caravanning industry with products made in Germany.”

Successful international summit leading the industry development

As a professional trade show with German roots and strong support from its mother show CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF, the world’s largest show for motorhomes and caravans, AIC has been committed to building a platform for international exchange. On June 17th and 19th, the China RV Parts and Outdoor Products Export Seminar and the 2nd Sino-German Dealer Workshop were successfully held with remote access for international guests due to coronavirus restrictions. Experts from Germany and Australia joined the events online for talks with Chinese manufacturers and dealers. Both events attracted more than 120 participants from the sector.

The 2021 International Summit on the Development of China's FIT (Free Independent Travelers) Tourism received strong support from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany Beijing and the Beijing Economic & Technology Development Area. A total of 250 experts and guests joined the discussion from investment agencies, cultural tourism groups, scenic spots and tourism boards, OTAs, rental platforms, RV manufacturers and campsite operators. The successful summit opened up new ideas for the continuous development of the FIT tourism industry in the post-pandemic era.

Popular recreational activities promoting caravanning holidays

Cultural and recreational activities have always been an indispensable part of AIC. This year, AIC welcomed 1,500 families to experience the wonderful camping lifestyle on site and enjoy fun parent-child activities. These young families have undoubtedly become potential customers. “My family and I came to the caravanning show for the first time, which was really an eye opener. The caravan is fully functional for people to live in. You can sleep, cook, bathe, and even bring pets in it. We are so eager to experience it. I plan to rent a caravan first, and buy one later, if possible.” says Mrs. Gao from Hebei province.

The China Campgrounds of the Year Zone and the AIC Talent Academy Zone attracted a large number of young people with fashionable designs, trendy decorations and interactive activities. Both became popular check-in spots at the show.

The AIC Forum Zone was packed with people too. According to available statistics, more than 900 participants in three days attended events here. AIC Dream Tour, AIC Starter World, and media veteran HU Xiaofei's presentations were well received by the visitors.
