"The Standard--Basic Requirements for RV Tourism Services" in Yangtze River Delta Promulgated

On September 20, 2013, during the first " Shanghai (Yangtze River) RV Travel Carnival", "The Standard--Basic Requirements for RV Tourism Services in Yangtze River Delta”(DB31/T-2013) officially released. Officials from the Tourism Bureaus of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces attended the press conference.

The release of the Standard is aimed to regulate the development of RV tourism service industry, including the site selection, functional areas and service programs, water and electricity facilities, health and hygiene facilities, information services, security management, environmental and energy management, and other basic requirements.

The standard was proposed by Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration. And the drafting units include: Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration, Jiangsu Provincial Tourism Bureau, Zhejiang Provincial Tourism Bureau , Anhui Provincial Tourism Bureau , East China Normal University, Shanghai Tourism Standardization Technical Committee , Shanghai RV ( self-driving ) alliance.

The Standard will play an important role in improving the service quality of RV service area in the Yangtze River Delta, and protecting consumers' legitimate rights and interests. It is quite practical and proactive, better reflecting the public’s appeals. With clear text structure and sound systems, it is of great feasibility. The standard has been assessed by the expert committee on September 16, 2013.

The standards is bound to better regulate and guide RV tourism service area construction in the Yangtze River Delta, providing an important technical support for creating a favorable market environment. Catering to the growing needs of RV travel market, it will set a strong impetus to the sustainable development of the industry.
