European Leisure Vehicle Market - Registrations in Europe are on the Increase Again
Motorcaravans are setting the trend in the European leisure vehicle market. In the first half of 2011 the caravanning market in Europe recorded over 100,000 new registrations, an increase of 4.7%. Europeans registered 49,624 motorcaravans (44,944 in 2010) and 51,027 caravans (51,143 in 2010).
The market for caravans has remained more or less stable while the market for motorcaravans has shot up by 10.4%.
The top three countries in the leisure vehicle market in the first six months of the year are Sweden (+21%),Norway(+17%) and Germany (+15%). Result from Austria (+7.2%), Belgium (+7.1%) and France (+6.1%) are also above average.
On the other hand new registrations have fallen dramatically in Spain (-19%) and Denmark (-16.2%).
Germany is by far the Number One leisure vehicle champion in Europe: 26,166 new leisure vehicle were registered in the country in the first half of the year.
