AIC 2021 Press Conference Held in Beijing

The All in CARAVANING (AIC) 2021 press conference took place at the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center on the afternoon of June 2nd, 2021.

Launched in 2012 in Beijing, AIC is a satellite exhibition of Caravan Salon DÜSSELDORF, the world’s largest show for motorhomes and caravans. It is also the only international and specialized trade show for the caravanning industry across the country with recognition and approval by the Ministry of Commerce of China. This year, AIC will be celebrating its 10th edition, which will be held at Beijing Etrong International Exhibition & Convention Center during June 18-20.

The press conference was held under the theme “The 10th Anniversary of AIC - Explore a Better Life of Travel". Organizers of the trade show who were present at the event included Mr. CHENG Hong, member of the Party committee and Deputy Manager of the CTG Asset Development Corporation Limited, Mr. FANG Dehe, Secretary General of the China Association of Automotive Manufacturers Recreational Vehicle Industry Committee, Mr. LIU Hanqi, Secretary General of the China Self-driving Tour and Camping & Caravanning Association (STCCA) of CTACA, Mr. Marius Berlemann, General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Mrs. DU Yujia, AIC Project Director. A total of 80 mass media as well as renowned industry media outlets attended the press conference.

Mr. Marius Berlemann delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the organizer and expressed his gratitude to the guests and friends from the media. He also said: "The prosperous development of China's caravanning and camping industry is a prerequisite for the continuous growth of AIC, while the support of partners, exhibitors and media outlets is the cornerstone of our success. As AIC returns after a pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are well prepared to present to the industry an even more innovative and high-value trade fair. "

Mrs. DU Yujia, AIC Project Director continued to give a detailed presentation on the preparations and highlights of AIC 2021. This year’s show will focus on the concept of "International RV Brand Festival” with an area of 39,000 m2. By the end of May, booths have been sold out to over 200 exhibitors, including more than 50 imported RV brands. The 3-day event is expected to attract 25,000 visitors.

German Pavilion to be launched in all its glory
In terms of exhibition planning, the German Pavilion will make its debut this year as one of the greatest highlights of the trade show. According to Mrs. Du, the German Pavilion was initiated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, and co-organized by the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry. After two years of preparation and coordination, the German Pavilion is to make its debut this year as the first national pavilion of AIC. In the post-pandemic era, the launch of the German Pavilion not only creates a window for the caravanning industry to resume trade and economic exchanges between China and Germany, but also serves as an excellent platform in China to attract investment and promote business cooperation between the two countries. This will be of great significance for the sustainable development of the industry.

Leading the way: The 1st International Summit on the Development of China's FIT Tourism: Cross-industry Integration and Development of a New Ecosystem for Culture and Tourism Industry
The coronavirus pandemic has dramatically changed people’s ideas and ways of travelling. Well-designed, and personalized services are highly sought-after, whilst self-drive holidays rapidly take over the market with exploding popularity. As a new form of business that is actively encouraged by the State, self-drive holidays and camping have shown great market potential for development. The caravanning industry must broaden its horizons, dig deeper into the self-drive holiday market, and promote development of the camping industry in order to attract more resources and capitals.

In this background, AIC joins hands with its partners to launch the International Summit on the Development of China’s FIT Tourism. Under the theme of “Breakthrough·Reshape·Integrate", the summit will gather industry leaders to explore prospects of the culture and tourism industry, discuss ways to accelerate integration and innovation, and seek to build a new pattern of mutually supportive domestic and international economic cycles. Representatives of renowned Chinese investment institutions, scenic sites and tourism bureaus, OTAs, rental platforms, RV manufacturers as well as campsite operators are on the list of invited guests for the summit.

Overcoming the pandemic setbacks to build an international exchange platform
Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., the organizer of AIC, is the Chinese subsidiary of Messe Düsseldorf, which is a world-leading exhibition organizer. Relying on the strong global resources of its parent company, AIC has always stood out among its Chinese counterparts with its high level of international participation. Even under the influence of the pandemic, AIC has received strong support from headquarters this year to host two important online meetings that facilitate industry communication between local and international businesses.

The 2nd Sino-German Dealer Workshop has once again invited Mr. Kai Dhonau, President of the German Caravan Dealer Association as a guest speaker. He will share successful marketing strategies with Chinese manufacturers and dealers. The China RV Parts and Outdoor Products Export Seminar will feature online discussions among experts from Germany, Australia and China, providing positive and effective solutions for Chinese manufacturers to explore overseas markets.

Industry insights for innovation-driven development
The AIC Innovation, which has been held for two consecutive editions, will once again present 12 outstanding caravan accessory brands. Visitors will have the opportunity to get in contact with high-tech caravan accessories including electrical appliances, kitchen and bathroom furniture and camping supplies. The first AIC Talent Academy, organized by AIC in collaboration with Zonereal Industrial Design, a renowned local caravan design institute, saw an influx of young design talents throughout its three-month call for entries. Students have demonstrated their amazing innovative capabilities through 35 design projects, showing the strength of the future caravan design community. These outstanding entries will be presented at the AIC 2021.

The AIC AWARDS, famed as the Oscars of caravanning industry, is to be upgraded this year under a new name “AIC RV of the Year 2021”. Its aim is to bring quality caravans made in China to the world and to showcase the spirit of Chinese caravanners who pay great attention to quality, innovation and development. The award has attracted the attention of several European caravan media outlets, which will feature the event after the announcement of winning models.

Discover destinations and the joy of camping
As caravan holidays are becoming increasingly popular, people start to pay attention to destinations for traveling and camping. For this reason, AIC 2021 creates the unique "China Campgrounds of the Year" exhibition zone, which is set to become a popular check-in spot at the show. A selection of 50 top campsites in China will also be presented onsite using multimedia tools. Visitors will have access to all the campsite information.

Smart caravans for a new era
Nowadays, “smart" developments prevail in all sectors of life, and the caravan industry is no exception. Xiaomi released a smart motorhome model recently which attracted great interest from the market. Smart caravan instantly became a hotspot topic, signaling the arrival of a new era. As a specialized trade show, AIC is set to feature smart caravans. According to the information from Mrs. Du, a new and smart caravan model from a specialized RV manufacturer will be unveiled for the first time at the AIC 2021. Its cutting-edge vehicle concept, technological design and intelligent features remain undisclosed to the public. AIC will be the premiere stage for this smart caravan, inviting visitors to join and witness the grand moment.

In addition to these new activities, AIC 2021 will also feature some of the most popular and established concurrent events. For example, the family-friendly "AIC Kids Club” organized together with seven parent-child organizations to bring a full line-up of recreational activities and performances for children. The “AIC Starter World” targets newcomers and offers those interested the opportunity to learn about the world of caravanning from RV experts and veteran caravanners. The “AIC Dream Tour” is also a not-to-miss event, where veteran caravan travelers will show the dreamy and desirable RV lifestyle. Mr. HU Xiaofei, former host of the Feiyu Show and media veteran, will also give a presentation to share his thoughts on "Go Camping, and Enjoy Your Home Outdoors".
