2017 another Record Breaking Year for German Caravanning Industry

2017 will go down in history as the most successful year of the German caravanning industry: Never before, so many leisure vehicles were newly registered in a single year. 63,364 units equal a strong increase of 15.3 percent compared to the previous year. For the first time, the mark of 60,000 vehicles was surpassed.

Both vehicle types grew similarly strongly. 22,696 newly registered caravans mean an extraordinary increase of 14,9 percent and the best result in 16 years. New registrations of caravans rose for the forth year in a row and reached a plus of 36,2 percent since 2013.

The motor caravan segment rose heavily by 15,5 percent to 40,568 vehicles – a new all-time high. New registrations exceed the mark of 40,000 units for the first time. 2017 is the seventh record-breaking year in a row. Since 2010, new registrations of motor caravans more than doubled.
