Jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and China Association of Automotive Manufacturers Recreational Vehicle Industry Committee (CMRV), GO CARAVANING•SHANGHAI debuted at Shanghai Audi International Circuit from 31 October to 1 November 2015 with brand new demeanor. Themed as “Caravaning Leading the Healthy Lifestyle”, the show covered an area of 5000 sqm, presenting dozens of quality RVs from renowned Chinese and foreign brands, as well as various camping gears and leisure products.
It has not only attracted trade buyers to come for business discussion, but also the curious eye of the general public. With the parallel event FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Shanghai (with more than 40,000 audiences during the 2-day event), over 20,000 people visited the RV exhibition zone to experience a variety of travel and living functions, as well as the comfort and convenience of the RVs. As the end of autumn is approaching, many RV manufacturers gathered market feedback on-site, and heard improvement suggestions from car owners on the R&D of new products. They took it as the “Finale Battle” to stimulate RV sales this year.
Dozens of mass and industry media participated in the exhibition and reported the event. Released news articles and online reproduction reached more than ten thousand and triggered warm response.
Based on resource accumulation over the past four years, the organizer introduced GO CARAVANING•SHANGHAI, for the first time ever, the sub-brand exhibition of All in CARAVANING into the Yangtze River Delta - the region with the most dynamic and promising economic growth, so as to strengthen the communication and popularization of caravaning culture, establish direct contact with end-buyers, and to let more people know about caravaning.
Brand RVs brought brand new lifestyle
Both premium RV brands presented by Chinese giant enterprises, such as Centech, ZHONG-OU AUTO, the 28th Research Institute (Li Yang), SAIC MAXUS, SHUNLV, ARMADILLO, as well as renowned German RV brands like HOBBY and FENDT presented by RVIV, and American ECON presented by PARAVALLEY RV were demonstrated at the show. Many visitors who were still not very familiar with RV marveled at the ingenious space design. They watched and experienced with great curiosity and asked about each detail, expressing their interest in RV. Most people indicated that they would consider leasing or buying.
Concurrent industry seminars built new bridges between the supply and demand sides of the RV accessories industry and took the pulse of RV-leasing development
Several high-end industry seminars held on October 31 attracted extensive concern in the industry. In the morning, China RV Parts & Accessories Procurement Matchmaking Symposium invited 13 parts enterprises to deliver keynote speeches, introducing their competitive products and providing first-hand procurement information. Nearly 200 people from more than 100 well-known RV manufacturers, automotive and outdoor products providers and trade media attended the Symposium. The Symposium established a platform between the supply and demand sides for thorough understanding and information exchange. It realized face-to-face communication and created opportunities for effective cooperation.
In the afternoon, Workshop on China Caravan Parts & Accessories Industry Standards was held. With the consideration of their own actual situation, participating companies raised new standard-setting proposals for RV parts in China based on the existing national standards.
Afterwards, the Workshop on Current Status and Development of Caravan Rental Business in Yangtze River Delta set off a new upsurge. The organizer invited several pioneers of the RV leasing industry as guests to give professional interpretation of the current status and prospects of RV leasing industry in China, and to explore opportunities for cooperation. Meanwhile, financing models such as financial leasing were discussed in-depth during the workshop to help stimulate RV leasing sales.
Rich entertainment events enhanced interactive experience
The FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Shanghai is at the highest level among the World Endurance Series, attracting tens of thousands of audiences to come and cheer for the teams. At the same time, the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and the Audi R8 LMS Cup brought super high popularity to the scene. Also, the Carrera Racing Game was moved to the exhibition site, echoing with the real “racing” tracks, which was warmly welcomed by the children. The activity “Experiencing Caravaning” organized by the ODINFARM was well received by families. Under the guidance of their parents, the children got to know RV and understand the RV traveling culture. They DIYed micro landscapes of eco-caravaning sites, and spent a happy weekend with enriched knowledge.
Most of the exhibitors expressed satisfaction for the first GO CARAVANING • SHANGHAI event. Even though the exhibition period was relatively short, they still gained some potential business contacts and valuable market information from the industry forums. Many people are looking forward to the All in CARAVANING 2016 to be held at the Beijing Exhibition Center from 18 to 20 June in the coming year.
