The 64th CARAVAN SALON opened today in Düsseldorf in the presence of North Rhine-Westphalia's Minister President Hendrik Wüst and Düsseldorf's Lord Mayor Dr Stephan Keller. 810 exhibitors from 41 countries – including all international industry leaders and many newcomers – will be presenting the latest highlights in motorhomes, caravans, campervans, roof tents and accessories in 15 exhibition halls until 7 September.
Minister President Wüst: "The CARAVAN SALON impressively demonstrates how technology and vision go hand in hand. Here at the international trade fair location Düsseldorf, we can see that increasing demand is both generating economic success and numerous innovations – from high-quality technical equipment and climate-neutral parking sites to digitally supported tourist offers in many regions of our state. North Rhine-Westphalia offers a unique variety of landscapes for tourism. Apart from this, the caravanning industry is exemplary for the structural change in North Rhine-Westphalia, combining sustainability with progress and creating skilled jobs in many economic sectors. So the caravanning industry is a pioneering force and function, especially for the tourism industry."
Lord Mayor Dr Keller: "CARAVAN SALON, the world's leading trade fair for mobile travel, underlines the appeal of Düsseldorf as a trade fair location and impressively demonstrates how much the holiday format of individual, flexible and mobile travel is gaining in importance. The rising number of motorhome registrations in particular is proof of this growing interest. Düsseldorf offers the ideal setting for this: while the trade fair is the industry's meeting place, the city is transformed into Europe's largest campsite – here you can wake up with a view of the Rhine and then discover the diversity of the industry, but also the diversity of Düsseldorf."
Bernd Löher, President of the Caravanning Industry Association (CIVD), emphasizes the exceptional status of CARAVAN SALON for the industry: "For the international caravanning industry, CARAVAN SALON is the undisputed highlight of the year. The trade fair is not only the largest stage for new products, but has also developed into the central platform for professional exchange within the industry and dialogue with tourism, politics and other economic sectors."
The first weekend of CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF 2025 confirmed the great interest in caravanning. Almost 90,000 visitors attended the world's largest trade fair for mobile leisure over the first three days and were impressed by the unique range of products on offer in the 15 exhibition halls and the outdoor area. "Mobile leisure holidays continue to boom and are very popular among all social classes and age groups. The CARAVAN SALON is so popular because Düsseldorf is the only place where visitors can find out about the latest products in the industry in such detail and also buy them directly at the trade fair. At the same time, the CARAVAN SALON is the world's largest platform for industry professionals, who can exchange ideas and make contacts here," says CARAVAN SALON Director Stefan Koschke.
At CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF, 810 exhibitors from 41 countries will be presenting motorhomes and caravans of all sizes and price categories, as well as base vehicles, accessories, technical equipment, conversion parts, tents, mobile homes, campsites, motorhome sites and travel destinations until 7 September.
In addition to vehicle innovations, the trade fair also offers plenty of tips and ideas for (active) holidays. A visit to Hall 7 f.e. with tourist offers for hiking, trekking or biking near and far inspires and simply makes you want to ‘get out into nature’. Other highlights include the Traumtouren cinema, which will awaken wanderlust with impressive travel reports, as well as the inspiring European Outdoor Film Tour (EOFT) on the second Friday, which promises pure adventure. Those who prefer to get active themselves can try out the latest models directly on site on the e-bike course. And the youngest visitors are also catered for: a colourful fun and games programme for children ensures bright eyes and happy experiences.
The popular StarterWelt is the first port of call for anyone who is just discovering mobile travelling - this year, the special show can be found between Halls 5 and 9. The special show, which is organised in cooperation with the explorer & VANderlust magazines, offers professional advice and expert knowledge to make your own project a success. Several self-built leisure vehicles will clearly demonstrate what is possible.
